So, someone at ICE had this great idea… just ask people with orders of removal to show up so they could get deported. I don’t know why this one hasn’t been thought of before — in fact, why even have ICE? Just let people deport themselves, and think of the money we’d save in court costs, not to mention a decline in civil suits from United States citizens who’ve been arrested and deported by overzealous ICE agents…
“We don’t want to detain or deport U.S. citizens,” said Ernestine Fobbs, an ICE spokeswoman. “It’s just not something we do.”
That’s a relief!
