Premium Processing - now available for some I-140 Cases

USCIS has provided a fact sheet explaining the new process — briefly, some beneficiaries who are coming up on their sixth year  in H-1B status will be able to pay the $1000 premium processing fee and get a speedy adjudication of their I-140.
This is a step in the right direction!

USCIS has published a new I-765 Application for Employment Authorization (EAD), with new directions, on the USCIS website.

New I-693 form

For use by civil surgeon, as part of the adjustment of status packet. After 5/1/08, the old one won’t be accepted…

Extension of OPT for certain F-1 holders

From 12 to 29 months… but only “available to F-1 students with a degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics who are employed by businesses enrolled in the E-Verify program.” See DHS news release: 17 Month Extension of Optional Practical Training for Certain Highly Skilled Foreign Students.
