Update on Dvorak cases

This is a link to an article in Sunday’s Boston Globe about cases filed by Boston immigration attorney John K. Dvorak — many of which are now being denied. I’ve spoken to many Brazilians who filed petitions with this lawyer, and am filing responses to notices of revocation that follow the “notice of intent to […]

2010 Visa Lottery (DV2010) is now up and running

The Diversity Visa Lottery is one of the few ways that people who don’t have relatives in the US or offers of employment  can obtain permanent residence.
Instructions can be found at the Department of State’s website. Unfortunately, people born in Brazil are not eligible, due to the high rate of Brazilian immigration to the United […]

“Clarification” on I-601

Name check victory, Part I

Expect a flood of I-485, I-601, I-687 and I-698 approvals…
… but of course, watch what they do, not what they say:
USCIS has announced that it will begin approving the above listed cases which have cleared FBI fingerprint and IBIS checks,  and for which FBI name checks have been pending for more than 180 days.

From today’s edition of Bender’s Immigration Bulletin… the United States District Court in the Western District of Washington granted mandamus to an applicant for permanent residence after a wait of over three years on his FBI name check. Now, USCIS has 60 days to grant adjustment of status or show why he shouldn’t receive his […]
